Teen Yoga

Teen yoga

The yoga sessions at Anthony Gell School are a perfect way for our Y11s to have a break from the pressures of their GCSEs and learn ways to relax and improve their flexibility.

Young people need yoga

Yoga is beneficial for everyone, but it is especially so for teenagers; given that these can be difficult years, both emotionally and physically, yoga can help teens find inner peace, confidence as well as ensure physical fitness. Improves fitness.

These lovely fun classes will include a range of Postures
– Breathing and relaxation techniques – Mindfulness and meditation.

Yoga class designed and delivered by fully qualified yoga teacher who has completed specialist training with Teen Yoga (UK)

The feed back from the students has been fantastic with many of them using the techniques shown themselves, but also passing them on their friends. Several of the group have also started to attend teen yoga classes outside of school.
I thoroughly recommend Sam and teen yoga. It has provided an alternative way of giving our students more techniques and support.

The new afternoon double PE sessions are proving really popular and give the students the opportunity to have a 2 hour slot where they can do an activity properly without having to rush back off to lessons.
The yoga experience is something which students would not normally get access to in school and we are lucky enough to have some funding this year to facilitate Sam’s sessions.
I hope that through these sessions the girls and boys (if they want to..) will be able to learn yoga and have the confidence to continue with it when they leave school.
Some girls are already investigating classes that Sam runs on weekends. Thanks Sam – our girls are lucky to have you!
